Title: Pharmacist 2 Department Org: Pharmacy - 110130 Employee Classification: B6 - Unclass Part Time AFSCME HSC Bargaining Unit: AFSCME HSC Primary Location: HSC H Shift: 2 Start Time: 1500 End Time: 2300 Posted Salary: 53.57-59.05 Float: True Rotate: True On Call: False Travel: False Weekend/Holiday: True Job Description: The role of the Pharmacist II is to provide the best prescribed pharmacotherapy to patients, supporting the patient-centered academic mission of the University of Toledo Medical. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing prescription orders; reviewing patient profiles; preparing, dispensing, and managing medications to support safe and effective drug therapy for patients of all ages. Additionally, the Pharmacist II may adjust therapy and order labs per a consult agreement. They provide education to patients, caregivers, health care professionals, students, and the public, as well as drug information to the medical and nursing staff as requested. Minimum Qualifications: Pharmacist II (U94) Education/experience/licensing: -Professional pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited College of Pharmacy -Unrestricted license to practice in the State of Ohio or eligible for licensure -BLS and ACLS Certification -Board Certification in Pharmacotherapy, Ambulatory Care Pharmacy or equivalent advanced certification in area of specialty required within 4 years Residency trained candidates must obtain board certification within 24 months. -Meet ASHP preceptor qualifications within 12 months Communication and other skills: Self-directed, motivated and capable of leading supportive personnel Able to work well with the public and other health professionals. Possess the ability to resolve conflicts and respond appropriately to complaints. Demonstrate effective interpersonal and culturally appropriate communication skills to provide excellent customer service. Able to train, evaluate and supervise professional and technical personnel and staff Physical Requirements: Visual acuity of 20/20 or corrected to 20/20 including color vision when applicable Ability to hear (with or without aides) Ability to orally communicate Good manual dexterity Ability to push, pull, roll, and transfer/lift 50 pounds occasionally Ability to stand, walk constantly Ability to bend, reach, stoop, kneel occasionally Preferred Qualifications: -PGY1 Residency training or at least three years of applicable pharmacist experience preferred Conditions of Employment: To promote the highest levels of health and well-being, the University of Toledo campuses are tobacco-free.
