Transport Driver Job Code: 2018-1001-009 Location: Toledo, OH FT/PT Status: Full Time Job Responsibilities: Transport Drivers for Crystal Flash are valued team members who are responsible for delivering fuels to customer or company locations in a safe and efficient manner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Safely and efficiently drives commercial vehicles during specified shifts on a 24/7 work week in all types of weather conditions Loads, unloads and moves fuels safely from fuel terminal to customer or company locations in a timely manner Follows company policies and federal and state regulations Keeps a safe record regarding accidents, driving record, injuries and other actions/events, following all company safety guidelines Maintains clean equipment, uniforms and cab space, ensuring any repairs are communicated promptly Completes accurate and timely documentation for delivery of product, volume of delivery, and inventory control management Appropriately uses internal systems, hand held devices, and other electronic equipment for work purposes Takes direction from dispatchers and/or managers, following delivery instructions and maintaining good working relationship Communicates with team members, management and customers in a professional and courteous manner Stays calm and level headed in stressful situations and refrains from emotional outbursts Adopts new methods, procedures and changes in a positive manner Offers suggestions to improve efficiencies and solutions to solve problems To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. General Requirements Must be at least 21 years of age or older with a Commercial Driver's License, Class A Hazmat and Tanker endorsement must be obtained in order to be hired At least one year previous tractor-trailer driving experience No BACs, DUIs, DWIs or license suspensions for moving violations in the past 5 years No major preventable accidents within the past year No reckless driving convictions in the last 3 years in a personal or commercial vehicle Able to pass a DOT physical and drug test Able to work nights and weekends, generally Thursday through Monday starting between 3 PM-5 PM for 8-12 hour shift Knowledge of driving safety rules and regulations Knowledge of mechanics and hazardous materials preferred Good communication and human relation skills Competencies: CF Image: Keeps equipment, work space, uniforms and self clean, neat and presentable. Product Control: Responsible for ensuring accurate delivery of product, volume of delivery, control and containment of fuels and related products, and proper inventory management. Recordkeeping: Properly document customer deliveries and other services to ensure accurate record keeping and controls. Utilize internal systems, hand held devices, computer programs, documents and other methods for processing transactions. Regulatory: Knowledge of and compliance with all regulatory and CFE guidelines and policies. Resilience: Maintains an optimistic and supportive outlook after a difficult experience. Can manage normal course of business rejection and tension. Manages stress. Is able to accept constructive criticism/coaching. Safety: Maintains a safe record regarding accidents, driving record, injuries and other actions/events. Follows safety guidelines for personal protective equipment (PPE) and operations. Follows loading and unloading practices, terminal policies, SSA & bulk plant regulations, uses PPE and safety devices, uses safe lifting techniques, 3-Pt entry/exit technique, proper practices, etc. Responds appropriately in emergency situations: addresses immediate risks and dangers, does not create further risk for self or others, notifies managers and authorities appropriately, responds and cooperates with investigation. Maintains hours of service, efficient workload vs. time, is rested and ready for work as scheduled. Reports damages and unsafe equipment regardless of who may have contributed to the damage. Reports and ensures repairs and maintenance work is completed. Brings forth recommendations as they pertain to Safety. Self Management: Uses time and resources effectively. Is organized. Stays on task and focuses on most important items first. Completes assignments accurately, legibly and meets deadlines. Performs work with minimal supervision and/or direction. Makes decisions within scope of authority and appropriate to the situation Reading, Writing and Math Skills: General reading comprehension level for emails, memos, letters, and documents. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Basic writing skills for composing internal memos, email, basic letters and documents. Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members within the company. General math skills to perform basic addition, subtraction, division and multiplication with some application. Reasoning: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the team member is required to see, drive, talk and hear. The team member frequently is required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, push or pull. The team member is required to utilize manual dexterity and technical knowledge to understand and utilize basic tools, instruments, parts, couplings, manage dials and gauges, etc. The team member must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Lifting may involve overhead work. The team member is frequently required to walk across rough terrain, around moving vehicles, and over or around obstacles. He/she is required to pull and/or push hoses, attach couplings, turn valves and manipulate hand tools. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. While performing the duties of this job, the team member regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee performs work in a predominately solitary environment. The primary form of communication is by telephone.
