Outside Plant Designer
A rapidly growing telecommunications company is looking to add a
talented OSP Designer to their team. The ideal candidate will have
experience in AutoCAD & GIS as well as 2 years experience working
with 3-GIS software. The OSP Designer will be responsible for
planning, designing, and maintaining the outside plant fiber
network. Experience will be heavily weighed for this role as well
as the ability to communicate effectively with different
stakeholders throughout the community.
OSP DESIGNER ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
--- Plan, design, implement, maintain documentation for fiber
outside plant facilities.
--- Support existing and ongoing projects.
--- Maintain safe work habits and conditions as per the regulations
and policies.
--- Understand outside plant construction techniques.
--- Design to the aerial and underground engineering
requirements.
--- Assist and support restoration methods for emergencies
conditions such as fiber damages, power failures, and other
disaster
--- Define plans for implementation of new plant construction and
modification of existing facilities as needed.
--- Participate in providing a budget for the implementation of
designs, new services, technology, and industry requirements.
--- Responsible for assisting with the project expenditure, create
progress reports, and recommend solutions to management.
--- Assist with supervising and monitoring fiber design and
engineering contractors.
--- Assist in implementing CAD, GIS, and other systems to design,
construct, and record fiber networks.
--- Coordinate and assist with necessary fieldwork as needed.
--- Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment is both indoors, within an office cubicle, and
outdoors. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such
as computers, phones, copier, scanner, fax, etc. Field work will be
required.
ADDITIONAL COMPENTENCIES:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Ability
to complete assigned tasks effectively and efficiently. Capability
to think logically, define problems, collect data, establish facts,
and draw valid conclusions. (Documentation as needed) Ability to
interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in various
forms.
