Summary: The employee is responsible for painting of equipment as assigned by the supervisor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Including but not limited to the following:

• 
  
• Washes, scrapes, and sands surfaces prior to painting.
  
• Cleans equipment, paint mixing area, and work area.
  
• Applies paints and surface preparatory materials as appropriate, and according to SDS ensuring compliance with hazardous materials guidelines.
  
• Operates spray equipment and other small power equipment.
  
• Works well with other team members to complete projects assigned in the allotted time.
  
• Inspects work for completeness and quality.
  
• Offers suggestions for improving the operation of the department.
  
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  
• Knowledge of the tools, equipment, materials, and application techniques common to the painting trade.
  
• Knowledge and skill in hazardous materials handling, application, and disposal.
  
• Skill in the preparation and application of paints and surface preparation materials to a wide variety of surfaces.

  Education and/or Experience:
  High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or three to five years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
