Overview: The internship program experience combines Cedar Point's business needs with college level internship requirements. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to grow and learn in the hospitality and amusement park tourism industry through hands-on exposure to day-to-day operational tasks within your assigned Division. You will be responsible for providing excellent guest service and utilizing leadership skills while collaborating on group projects to ensure a successful operation.Responsibilities:Entertainment Administration Internship - In this internship, you will create and maintain departmental schedules for all onstage and backstage seasonal entertainment staff. You will work directly with the production staff and managers to ensure that rehearsal, install, and performance schedules meet the daily operational needs for all entertainment offerings and productions at Cedar Point, Sawmill Creek Resort, and Castaway Bay Resort. You will also assist with daily paperwork, including tracking & communicating house counts for all venues, organizing daily operational paperwork from all performance locations, time edits, and assisting the Office Manager with creating Purchase Orders. Entertainment Production Internship - This is a hands-on internship, in which Interns may be assisting with various aspects of the show production process, including show installs, space preparation, deliveries, paperwork, props, costuming, operational show maintenance, & production coordination with both our internal production team and external vendors. You will also have the opportunity to be involved in production meetings with the creative team, and shadow other members of the production staff throughout the season. Special Events Internship - In this internship, you will have the opportunity to work with our internal Live Entertainment event production team, as well as with our Marketing, Event Operations, & Catering departments in the planning & execution of special events at Cedar Point and our off-site resorts. This is a hands-on internship, in which Interns may be assisting with event set up, tear-down/strike, band load-ins & load-outs, space preparation, daily event operations, documentation and reporting of event activation attendance, leading and organizing activities, ordering supplies, event maintenance, and coordination. Interns will report to the Live Entertainment Special Events Manager and work closely with managers in other departments.Qualifications:Must be at least 18 years of ageMust be attending an accredited college or university within the United StatesAbility to work nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needsAbility to pass a mandatory (or random) drug test, per Company policy, unless prohibited by state or provincial lawAbility to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education, and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
