Job Description
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Operate the aircraft in compliance with the terms of its
Certificate of Airworthiness and within the approved operation
limitations contained in the AFM.
Determining aircraft performance will permit the safe execution of
all phases of flight.
Determining and complying with noise abatement procedures.
Responsible for the operation, safety and security of the aircraft
and cargo.
Responsible for the safety and health of all crew members and
passengers on board.
Ensuring that all operations and procedures include risk management
mitigation specified in the SMS.
Checking and assessing weather and applicable NOTAMs.
Determining fuel, oil, and oxygen requirements.
Determining the aircraft weight and balance limits.
Ensuring that the aircraft is airworthy, registered, and that the
documentation and operational information required are on board the
aircraft.
Ensuring that a flight will not be commenced if a flight crew
member is incapacitated from performing duties by any cause such as
injury, sickness, fatigue, or the effects of any psychoactive
substance.
Ensuring that a flight will not be commenced, or will not be
continued beyond the nearest suitable airport when a flight crew
member's capacity to perform functions is significantly reduced by
impairment of faculties from causes such as fatigue, sickness, or
lack of oxygen.
Completing an aircraft pre-flight inspection as per the aircraft
flight manual, before each departure.
Notifying the nearest appropriate authority by the quickest means
of any accident involving the aircraft, resulting in serious injury
or death of any person or substantial damage to the aircraft or
property.
Ensuring that a suspected communicable disease is reported promptly
to air traffic control, in order to facilitate provision for the
presence of any special medical personnel and equipment necessary
for the management of public health risk on arrival.
Submitting a report to the designated local authority following an
act of unlawful interference or landing at an airport other than a
State's international airport caused by circumstances beyond the
control of the PIC.
Ensuring that all flight planning requirements have been met and
flight plans filed.
Proper servicing of the aircraft.
Will advise Operations or the Point of Contact of (destination or
passenger) change/s as soon as possible.
Provide leadership and training to other flight crew members.
Brief the passengers in accordance with AOM requirements.
Operating the aircraft in accordance with operator procedures and
aircraft limitations.
Ensuring compliance with regulations, customs, immigration, and
cabotage laws.
Are responsible for their own flight and duty time limitations.
As soon as possible, report to the appropriate air traffic service
(ATS) unit any hazardous weather or flight conditions encountered
that are likely to affect the safety of other aircraft.
Completing all post flight duties, including notification to the
company of any deviation from the planned itinerary or overnight
location.
Recording flight times, landings, and aircraft defects.
SCOPE AND IMPACT
Responsible to work with the Aircraft Operations Team, Executive
Assistants, and passengers to operate company aircraft and
facilitate the safe and efficient travel of OI Glass
executives.
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Holds a valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate and a valid
Instrument Rating for the category of aircraft operated.
Holds a type rating for at least one type of aircraft operated.
Holds a FAA Class I Medical.
Minimum of (15) years of professional pilot experience.
Minimum of 5,000 flight hours preferred.
Is qualified in accordance with O-I's training program to act as a
Pilot-in-command (PIC) on one of the type aircraft to be
operated.
Demonstrates adequate knowledge of the AOM, training manuals, and
SOP's to carry out PIC duties and responsibilities.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
This position reports to the Manager, Aircraft Operations.
Travel Requirements
Extensive domestic and international travel.
Training: Three week initial pilot training course; Two (7) day
recurrent training events annually.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or
without reasonable accommodations.
