Directs patient medical care and related activities; examines patients for proper diagnosis; completes appropriate documentation of activities; completes examination; makes rounds and examines patients on all nursing units; works with the Clinic staff for the operation of the following entities: Medical Clinic; Ancillary Medical Services (e.g., laboratory, x-ray and EKG services); contract services for medical and surgical consultations (i.e., podiatry, eye, neurology and other specialties) and other contract services as needed. In collaboration with the CEO or designee, participates in budget development and expense management for areas of responsibility; assists the assigned staff to develop and evaluate the achievement of goals, objectives and quality outcomes for the physical medical care of patients; collaborates with the interdisciplinary health team and coordinates the medical and physical aftercare of patients; leads and directs a recovery focused approach to the patient's medical and physical needs and works with the treatment teams to integrate those needs with the other recovery needs; evaluates the quality of care provided through coordination with the QA/PI Department and the medical staff QA/PI and hospital safety plans; serves as primary liaison with hospital medical/clinical staff and community resources on emergency diagnosis and treatment: instructs other medical/clinical staff (e.g., physicians, resident physicians, psychiatrists, medical support staff, medical students) in emergency aspects of medicine and general medical/surgical areas; provides lectures/seminars to other medical clinical staff in specialized area (e.g., Emergency Medicine); conducts case conferences as requested.MINIMUM CLASS QUALIFICATIONS FOR EMPLOYMENT
