Job Description:

VitalCore Health Strategies is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatrist to join our healthcare team, providing specialized mental health services at correctional facilities. Our mission extends beyond healthcare delivery to encompass public safety and reducing recidivism through high-quality psychiatric care. This role involves the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates with a range of mental illnesses, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to tailor interventions and support a safer community reintegration. Conduct psychiatric evaluations, including interviews and physical exams, to diagnose mental health conditions. Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications following up-to-date standards of care. Develop treatment plans that include therapeutic interventions and follow-up measures. Collaborate with medical doctors, psychologists, social workers, and other health professionals to formulate holistic care plans. Monitor patient progress and make necessary treatment adjustments. Offer crisis intervention services when necessary. Lead or participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to coordinate and improve patient care. Document all patient care and treatment thoroughly in line with regulatory and compliance needs. Strong clinical skills in psychiatric evaluation and treatment Proficient in managing a variety of mental health conditions Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment Experience with electronic health record systems Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Board certified or board eligible in Psychiatry Valid state medical license
