We are seeking an experienced Locum Physician Assistant Critical Care Neuro to cover a hospital-based vacancy at a busy Level 1 Trauma Center with a comprehensive stroke program. This is a fantastic opportunity to provide specialized neuro ICU care in a dynamic, high-acuity environment with excellent support. Position Details: Practice Setting: Hospital-Based Reason for Coverage: Vacancy Dates of Coverage: Late October/Early November 2025 – February/March 2026 Call Schedule/Ratio: None Patient Population & Clinical Duties: 100% Adult patient population Trauma cases approximately 40% of patient load 100% inpatient care Average daily census: Neuro ICU: ~10 patients Neurosurgery consults: ~5 per night No other neurologists on-site during locum coverage Support from 2 neuro intensivists available by phone at night Team includes 3 Advanced Practice Providers Onsite lab and X-ray services available Documentation system: Epic Trauma designation: Level 1 Trauma Center with comprehensive stroke services Requirements: Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90–120 days Board Certified (PA or CNP licensed in Ohio) – required Ohio medical license mandatory Clean background check required Current BLS and ACLS certifications required ENLS certification highly preferred Candidate Qualifications: Comfortable managing neuro ICU patients in a Level 1 trauma setting Experience working with stroke patients required Able to cover a 16-bed neuro ICU and neurosurgical consults overnight
