HCR ManorCare provides a range of services, including skilled nursing care, assisted living, post-acute medical and rehabilitation care, hospice care, home health care and rehabilitation therapy.

The Hospice Inpatient Unit Director directs services necessary to meet the needs of clients assigned to the Hospice Care Center. Additional duties include:

• Responsibilty for ensuring the timely and comprehensive assessment of client needs
• Development and coordination of individualized care plans
• Implementation of care delivery and monitoring and evaluation of all clinical outcomes
• Direct client costs and service utilization In return for your expertise.
• Oversees daily operation of the Hospice Care Center.
• Promotes a positive, safe and dignified image for patients, families and staff.
• Ensures that level of care appropriateness, bed availability, staffing parameters and other service utilization benchmarks are consistently met.
• Maintains an appropriate and safe patient to staff ratio.
• Ensures implementation of all safety and emergency preparedness standards for the Hospice Care Center.
• Actively participates on the Hospice IOP and PAC Safety Committee.
• Works in collaboration with food service, laundry, central supply, DME, Pharmacy and other vendors to ensure appropriate and timely resource availability.
• Actively participates in quality assessment performance improvement (QAPI) activities.

  Educational Requirements
  
  Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with the State Board in which he or she practices. Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing preferred.
  
  Position Requirements
  
  Demonstrates problem solving and decision making abilities. The ability to manage client care with specific knowledge and experience in bedside nursing, symptom management, crisis intervention and family intervention. Demonstrated management ability with an interdisciplinary team and other health care providers. Excellent skills in: Communication, both verbal and written Building interpersonal relationships Documentation Organization The ability to develop and maintain rapport with the client, families, and staff.
