OverviewThe Registered Nurse provides nursing care to individuals and groups which require specialized knowledge, judgment, and skill derived from the principles of biological, physical, behavioral, social, spiritual/cultural, and nursing sciences. There are many outdoor activities to enjoy at our nationally recognized Pacesetter Park, along with music and entertainment found at Centennial Terrace and Downtown Sylvania, and the LPGA annual tournament. - The Flower Hospital campus is a 311-bed facility that houses the Hickman Cancer Center, ER Trauma Center, and is the regional leader for inpatient adult psychiatric services. - The campus includes, the Goerlich Center, which provides residence for patients with Alzheimer's and Dementia, along with the Ebeid Center our hospice facility.POSITION SUMMARYThe Metro Educator supervises all aspects of and provides strategic support for the delivery of education by providing excellent knowledge and expertise in the education specialty. - The Educator acts as a role model and resource to the healthcare team and community by providing education at the department, division, or hospital level that enhances safety and quality care. - The Educator assists the care team to understand and incorporate best practices to promote excellent patient outcomes. - Responsibilities include but are not limited to, facilitation of orientation, (including competency based training and testing), in-service education, and professional development activities, including continuing education. - - -ACCOUNTABILITIES1. -Needs Assessment: - Assesses educational needs through knowledge of system organizational strategic plan requirements of regulatory agencies, unit/department based needs assessments, quality and safety plan, formative and summative evaluations and individual learning needs. - Contributes to the overall educational planning process.2. Curriculum Design and Delivery: Identifies, analyzes and integrates research related to clinical - - - - practice and educational activity. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -3. Designs and develops educational activities, including orientation, in-service education, skills - - - training and continuing education using adult learning principles and methodologies for groups - - - and individuals in collaboration with Subject Matter Experts.4. Evaluation: Designs and implements, evaluative strategies appropriate to the educational activity.Utilizes findings from formative and summative evaluations into future education offerings. -5.
