population and their caregivers. The Infant and Early Childhood
Mental Health Consultant is responsible for providing Prevention
Early Intervention (PEI) services to families and early learning
centers of children ages 0-6 years. The ECMHC will utilize the New
Ohio Model of IECMH consultation to provide primary, secondary and
tertiary interventions to strengthen the competencies of
caregivers, parents and educators that promote healthy social and
emotional development in young children. Along with ample
supervision (both individual and as a group), extensive formal

us!EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
Required:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, early
childhood or related field
- LSW or LPC or licensure eligiblePreferred
- Minimum of two years direct experience with the early childhood
population
- Experience in mental health counseling (may include
internship)
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide child/family-centered consultation when educators or
parents have concerns regarding the social-emotional development of
a particular child.
- Establish relationships with early learning centers and provide
ongoing classroom support to strengthen the competencies of early
educators and decrease expulsion rates.
- Work with parents and educators to develop and oversee
implementation of action plans (individually or classroom focused)
that identify appropriate interventions for a child/ren to support
social and emotional skill-building.
- Make referrals of children and their families to appropriate
services.
- Provide learning opportunities for educators and families to
help them develop new skills that will
enable them to understand and more effectively support the
social-emotional development of children,
including those identified with behavioral issues (i.e. may include
observation, professional
development, modeling, etc.).
- Collaborate with community agencies and establish working
relationships within the communities
served.
- Provide initial and ongoing assessment, counseling and clinical
interventions to a designated caseload.
- Provide individual, group and family psychotherapy
interventions.
- Integrate Trauma Informed Care practices while working with
persons served.
- Communicate with relevant internal and external care providers
to complete ongoing assessment and to
coordinate care.
- Maintain complete and current clinical records regarding all
persons served.
- Achieve productivity goals as assigned.
