Thank you for considering a career at Mercy HealthProvides a full range of MRI/CT/X-Ray technical support to the imaging center under the direction of a remote or on-site Radiologist and a site manager. Is a highly organized, self-motivated individual with strong technical, and communication abilities. Possesses strong customer service skills that are essential for this role. May be required to occasionally cover other outpatient imaging center(s), work on some weekends, or be on-call for service.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES* High school diploma or GED. Graduate of an approved JRC program. Must maintain CEUs as specified by the ARRT. Current Ohio license required.* 1-2 years of CT technologist experience required. 1-2 years of MRI experience required.* Registered in either CT or MRI required. Registered in both CT and MRI preferred.* Knowledge of safe operation of X-ray generating equipment and hospital procedures including infection control.* Must have demonstrated a high degree of professionalism and dedication to principles of quality patient care and technical and professional education.* Must maintain a professional level that promotes the well-being of the patient and team work among the health care providers.* May be required to undergo training and perform blood draws of patients.* Must possess an ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, patients and families.* Must possess sufficient skills and initiative to function independently in an outpatient setting.* Experience with General Electric Medical Imaging Equipment is a plus, but not mandatory.* BLS CPR certification required.WORKING CONDITIONS* Work is performed in a demanding, fast paced environment with possible exposure to contagious disease and human body fluids.* Standing, walking, pushing, stooping and lifting are required.Key Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesInteracts with department staff, ancillary departments, nursing staff, physicians and patients to ensure an organized and comprehensive implementation of patient care.Remains knowledgeable of radiation protection requirements.Employs proper body mechanics and techniques for transport and positioning of patients and equipment.Performs needed duties to support staffing, quality assurance, quality control and technical requirements.Supports lead tech to coordinate workflow and room assignments as needed.Provides input for new employee hiring activities as needed.Communicates effectively and professionally with patients, family members, physicians, co-workers and staff.Provides input into policies specific to CT/MRI/X-Ray.Supports orientation and training of new employees.Assists at front desk and other modalities as required.Supports ordering of inventory and supplies, and scheduling patients as needed.May be required to assist manager or sales representative on occasional sales visits to physician offices.Provides services to all age groups.Demonstrated knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on assigned unit.Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span by completing continuing education program.Interprets information need to identify each patients requirements relative to his/her age-specific need:Neonate Pediatric Adolescent Adult GeriatricDemonstrates behaviors consistent with Mission and Core Values (Compassion, Excellence, Human Dignity, Justice, Sacredness of Life, Service) of Mercy.Adheres to the standards and policies of the Corporate Responsibility Program, including the duty to comply with applicable laws and regulations, and reporting to designated Manager (or employer hotline) any suspected unethical, fraudulent, or unlawful acts or practices.Embraces Standards of Behavior in order to provide and promote excellent customer service for both internal and external customers.
