UT.POSITION SUMMARY The Practice Manager is a highly skilled
professional and management position in Ambulatory Services. This
position is responsible for the administration of clinical
outpatient operations. The practice manager will assist in the
delivery of health care services, supervise all clinical employees
in providing the highest quality personalized patient care, and
maintains a positive work relationship with the health care team.
This position directly influences budgetary performance of the
Department by appropriate utilization of resources, infection
control principles, and customer satisfaction. This role has
supervisory oversight of assigned location and ensures compliance
as applicable (VFC, CLIA, TDDD, HIPAA, others). This role ensures
that clinical sites adhere to the highest standards possible
relative to patient care. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Recruitment, hiring and training of personnel, including team
leads and supervisors.
- Directs workflow and makes necessary changes for improvement of
clinical operations.
- Oversight of employee evaluations, disciplinary action and
recommendations of
- merit increases/promotions.
- Manages administrative issues related to patients, vendors and
physicians.
- Interacts regularly with other professionals relative to
operations of clinical sites as outlined in
- the attachment.
- Supervises use of EMR and its ongoing refinement/upgrades,
including scheduling templates.
- Provides recommendations for both financial and operational
improvements, develops plans and executes such with close
monitoring to maximize productivity and revenue potential.
- Preparation of productivity reports, annual report submissions
and other reports requested by the Director, Ambulatory
Services.
- Ensures that each clinical area adheres to all applicable
regulations and policies as applicable.
- Responsible for ordering of all medical and laboratory supplies
and equipment to support the outpatient clinical sites.
- Provides on-site support at clinical sites as needed, including
triage, direct patient care services.
- Attends regular meetings with Chairman and clinical providers
to discuss clinical operation improvements/changes.
- Adheres to the workflow design established for department and
meets all job performance standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Job holder must demonstrate current competencies applicable to
job description. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Associate's Degree
- Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of ICD9 and CPT coding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and
organization skills required.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state regulations.
- Must have solid experience in a supervisory position for clinic
management.
- Knowledge of organization policies and procedures, fiscal
management and human resources management techniques.
- Years of Experience: 3 years of practice management in
healthcare
- License and/or Certification: BLS/CPR Certification. PREFERRED
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business Management or
Nursing
- Licensure: RN or LPN - State of Ohio The above list of duties
