Job Description:

MANAGEMENT OF JCRC1. Ensure a representational and well-functioning JCRC is maintained, with planned meetings at least quarterly, set agendas, and take minutes.2. Develop a strategic plan and budget for addressing community engagement, education, Israel affairs, government relations and government advocacy.3. Act as a liaison between the JCRC and the Federation Board/Staff to ensure that there is a smooth and productive positive working relationship between the JCRC and the Federation.4. Develop and maintain strong relationships with other JCRCs outside of Toledo, JFNA, the JCPA, the Partnership and national/regional Jewish community organizations.5. Prepare formal, timely monthly reports of JCRC activities for the Executive Director and the JCRC Chair to report to the Federations Board that includes a chronological order of events and how they link back to the mission and goals set by the JCRC and Federation.6. Manage and maintain social media, website, online calendar of events and coordination of community calendar. Prepare and issue periodic emails to the community.7. Develop, present and adhere to an appropriate budget for JCRC activities.8. Identify new and innovative opportunities that support the JCRCmission.EDUCATE AND BUILD CONSENSUS AMONG THE JEWISH COMMUNITY1. Collaborate on programs with Federation partners on the local and national level with speakers, courses and educational opportunities that bring new perspectives on current issues related to Israel, antisemitism and legislation relating to Jewish and non-Jewish issues of relevance to our community.2. Research and institute best practices from other JCRC's and like-minded organizations for evaluation and possible implementation in our community.3. Develop innovative programming ideas with the JCRC and implement them as approved by the Executive Director.4. Work with overseas Jewish Agencies such as the Partnership, ORT, The Jewish Agency, and JDC.5. Attend conferences relevant to Director position when necessary and approved by the Executive Director.REPRESENT THE TOLEDO JEWISH COMMUNITY TO PUBLIC ENTITIES1. Represent interest of the mainstream Jewish community to public entities, including city, county, state and federal government, public and private school and universities.2. Coordinate media opportunities and either write statements and/or speak or defer to the JCRC Chairperson, Board or Federation Executive Director when requested.3. Assist local school boards and parents to address issues relating to Jewish holiday observances and representing balanced views about Israel and the Middle East in curriculum and materials. Support Hillel when needed as a resource to combat CompanyS and any anti-Israel, antisemetic activity on campus.4. Organize, plan and execute, with Federation programming staff, public acknowledgment of major Jewish observances, such as Holocaust memorial day, Yom HaShoah, Israels Independence Day, Yom Haatzmaut, Israels Remembrance Day, Yom Hazikaron, and Diversity Day. Maintain a public JCRC presence at community commemorations such as MLK Day.PROACTIVELY ENGAGE IN BUILDING BRIDGES IN INTER-FAITH AND INTER-GROUP SETTINGS1. Program and participate in planning programs that bring together faith communities and otherethnic communities.2. Build positive relationships across the Jewish and non-Jewish Community through coordination of speaking and meet and greet opportunities for the JCRC Director, JCRC Chair and Federation Executive Director and organize committee/community members to speak on panels.3. Coordinate and prepare materials for public speaking, presentations and meetings for the JCRC representatives.3. Meet and maintain good working relationship with faith leaders in other faiths.FEDERATION AND JCRC CHAIR SUPPORT1. Be an active and positive participant with the Federation staff.2. Recruit and support the JCRC Chairperson3. Attend and provide support for community wide events, as needed.4. Other Duties as assigned.--POSITION--QualificationsEXPERIENCE1. Requires a BA/BS and approximately 2-3 years of experience in relevant or related field, or equivalent demonstrable work experience.2. Demonstrate excellence ina. Community relations-navigating challenging and polarized political environments and complete community dynamics with nuance and tact.b. Advocacy to combat antisemitism and hate, and in support of Israel.
