Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected. Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur. Key Responsibilities Initial Storage Layouts:--- Analyze the available warehouse space and create optimized layouts for efficient storage and retrieval of parts and materials, including location labeling standardization.--- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, procurement, and supply chain, to understand their requirements and ensure the storage layouts are aligned with their needs.--- Incorporate lean principles such as minimizing waste in the layout design to enhance efficiency and productivity.PFEPs (Parts for Every Part):--- Develop and maintain PFEPs for the entire product range, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information on part numbers, quantities, suppliers, lead times, and other relevant data.--- Establish and enforce location labeling standards for inventory management, ensuring consistent and easy identification of parts and materials.--- Collaborate with procurement and supply chain teams to optimize stock levels based on demand, production schedules, and space constraints.--- Continuously review and update PFEPs to identify opportunities for cost reduction, inventory control, and improved supplier relationships.Material Flow Designs:--- Analyze the existing material flow within the manufacturing processes and identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.--- Design and implement material flow solutions that align with lean manufacturing principles, including just-in-time (JIT) and pull systems.--- Establish and enforce location labeling standards for efficient material flow, ensuring clear identification of material movement paths and storage areas.--- Work closely with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to coordinate the implementation of material flow designs and ensure smooth operations.Continuous Improvement:--- Actively participate in Lean initiatives and suggest process improvements for logistics and material flow, including location labeling standardization.--- Conduct regular audits and analysis of existing logistics processes to identify areas of waste and implement solutions for continuous improvement.--- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and sustain lean practices, including standardized location labeling, and drive a culture of continuous improvement within the organization. Key Qualifications/Requirements --- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, logistics, or a related field. --- Four years of directly related work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree. Additional Information --- Proven experience in logistics engineering, warehouse management, or related roles in a manufacturing environment.--- Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, including 5S, Kaizen, JIT, and kanban.--- Proficiency in layout design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar).--- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify process inefficiencies and develop innovative solutions.--- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.--- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively.--- Demonstrated ability to drive change and influence stakeholders.--- Knowledge of automotive parts manufacturing processes and materials is a plus.--- Familiarity with location labeling standardization principles and best practices.
