Description:Responsibilities:Part Design/Development:Research
and development of new part designs and concepts.Manage part design
action items with designer(s).Perform part design action
items.Perform FEA on new product designs.Track product development
statuses and updates and communicate with cross-functional team
members.Document received part data and ensure correct part data is
used when building new tooling.Review and analyze final part data -
document checks accordingly.Send and document outgoing part data to
tool shops.Document, track and complete tool shop concessions and
make alternative recommendations if needed.Manage tasks performed
by engineers in Solidworks - drawing and assemble creation.Create
and provide drawings as requested bysales or operations.Create
renders for new products, new color combinations and
presentations.Sales: - Create presentations on new innovative
concepts, new products, and existing products for Product Line
Reviews, Business Reviews, and Requests for Quotes from customers.
- Travel for meetings when necessary, including Product Line
Reviews, Trade Shows, Customer events, etc. - Attend sales meetings
to ensure alignment on new sales initiatives.Machinery & Equipment:
- Request quotes for machines needed for product assembly for
operations. - Review and communicate designs to operations. -
Communicate design changes to vendor and monitor alterations when
needed. - Request PO's, document and send to accounting. - Track,
document and communicate to accounting on when invoices can be
processed.Prototyping: - Manage prototyping priorities to Lead
Product Engineer. - Order materials - request quotes, request PO's,
document and send to vendor. - Track, document and communicate to
accounting on when invoices can be processed and tracked with
specific project numbers. - Handle special projects, custom
prototypes or gifts for sales team. - Trouble shoot printer issues.
- Purchase prototyping tools and supplies.Label Artwork: - Create
renders for new product labels when imagery is not available. -
Involvement in the development process of label artwork - making
revisions and verifying information - DocuSign label proofing
process - populate proofing sheet, gather and verify information,
track and file proofs, create DocuSign file for approvals, send
approved label proofs to vendor/purchasing.Testing: - Create
internal testing report sheets for documenting. - Develop and use
appropriate testing protocols. - Perform internal testing -
performance testing, material testing & coordinating, new supplier
testing. - Record, document and create reports for internal tests.
- Handle 3rd party testing requests from customers - directing
sample requests, filling out testing documentation or testing
request forms, tracking and documenting invoices for testing,
filing testing reports, handling of other related items.Logistics:
- Setup shipments for shipping prototypes, product samples,
machinery & assembly equipment when needed. - Loading and unloading
shipments when needed.Procurement: - Create drawings and figure
specs for components needed for new products. - Request costs for
components from multiple vendors. - Record and present costs
leadership. - Communicate preferred vendor to
purchasing/procurement.Other: - Manage upkeep of lab, testing
areas, and planograms with IC Team. - Daily involvement with the
Sales team - answering emails/questions and providing information.
- Daily involvement with Operations team - answering
emails/question, providing information. - Daily involvement with
Customer Service teams - answering emails/questions, providing
informationRequirements: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical or
plastics Engineering. - 8+ Years experience of hands-on injection
molding experience - 5+ Years experience with Product Design of
plastic injection molded products - Injection Molding training &
certifications preferred. - Solidworks Professional Certification
