website.About the OpportunityCurrently, GDLS is looking for two(2)
full-time Manufacturing Engineering Staff to join their team in
Lima, Ohio.This is a staff-level position where you will act as a
Resource Lead with no direct reports, for a team of 10-12 members.
You will be responsible for managing, investigating, and reporting
on manufacturing-related tasks for current and future production
programs.Your duties will also include, but are not limited
to:Managing, investigating, and reporting on plant modernization
tasks and industrial base studies (including economic analysis and
project prioritization)Planning strategies and development of
capital and government-funded projects for plant equipment
improvementsLeading and managing capital and government funding
projects, including project procurements, schedules, budgets, and
action items required to minimize/eliminate problemsActing as
technical liaison between engineers, skilled trades, and other
related disciplinesProviding technical support to the manufacturing
operations at GDLS Lima OperationsDeveloping a technical interface
with internal and external customers which include representatives
from the Government, General Dynamics Land Systems Divisional
office, and vendorsCoaching and mentoring salary bargaining unit
engineers through team-based coordination of technical
tasksOverseeing safe work practices and maintaining a safe work
environmentPlease note that the successful candidate will be
required to commute to the office in Lima, Ohio.About YouIn order
to qualify for this role, you will need a Bachelor's degree in
engineering or a related technical field, or an Associate's Degree
with extensive Abrams Manufacturing experience will be considered.
You also need at least 10 years of related experience.The following
skills and experience are also required:Manufacturing process and
equipment experienceDemonstrated project management skills and
organizationAble to perform problem-solving and root-cause
analysisExcellent written and presentation communications
skillsProficient with MS software (required) and Creo or equivalent
(highly desired)Occasional travel requiredThe right candidate must
also be a US citizen capable of clearing and holding a government
