Job Location: Maumee, OH, Denver, CO, Atlanta, GA, Cincinnati, OH,
Indianapolis, IN, Kansas City, KS, Minneapolis, MN. Will consider
Electrical Power engineers at Matrix work with our clients on
multiple projects to solve their problems through design of LV and
MV electrical distribution systems, protective relaying design, and
arc flash mitigation. The position will work independently and as a
part of a diverse team of multi-discipline engineers to solve
problems and execute projects for industrial and manufacturing
Duties & Responsibilities
Competent in the following by proving application of knowledge in
the following areas:
Perform engineering studies, such as protective device
coordination, harmonic analysis and load flow.
Design and develop electrical design packages based on the project
needs and process design documentation.
Strict adherence to both client and department established
procedures, standards, and work flows.
Application of the NEC standards related to project subject
Act as the point of contact between the electrical discipline,
other internal disciplines, and the client throughout the design
process to ensure that all of the client's needs are met
Develop motor control, AC and DC schematics
Develop protective relay (typically SEL) settings and communication
Develop Panel Layouts and Bill of Materials for applications.
Develop cable schedules and conduit layouts if required by the
Develop construction scopes of work for installation
Work with installation contractors during the installation.
Assist clients with onsite bid walks for contractors.
Assist in field commissioning checks by travelling to client
Work with Sales, Engineers and potential customers to determine
optimal solutions for their applications.
Estimate design and execution time and provide written narrative
for sales proposals.
Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without
Must possess a valid driver's license
Six (6) to eight (8) years of related experience in development and
implementation of electrical design, protective relaying,
schematics, Arc Flash studies, low and medium voltage power
Bachelors of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical
Engineering Technology (BSEE/BSEET) from an ABET accredited college
or university. Lesser degree would be considered based on field or
Experience with SEL relays and programming software, SKM or ETAP
software, and Power Monitoring preferred.
Knowledge of industry codes and standards, specifically NFPA70E
Experience using AutoCAD
Proficient in MS Office products
Ability to work individually and as part of a team

Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and with

This position must also be able to perform industrial field work
which may include hazardous locations, ladders, and stairs.
