Weekend/Holiday: False Job Description: The Early Childhood Teacher
II serves as the lead in an assigned classroom, working with
children ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years. This role provides
hands-on care and supervision to ensure each child’s safety,
health, and well-being while promoting growth across cognitive,
physical, social, and emotional domains. The Teacher II plans and
implements developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons,
observes and assesses progress, and partners with families to
support learning. Collaboration with other educators and
administrators is essential to maintain a positive and inclusive
learning environment. Key Responsibilities • Provide hands-on care
and supervise children, ensuring their safety, health, and
well-being throughout the day. • Lead the planning and delivery of
developmentally appropriate, play-based lessons aligned with Ohio’s
Early Learning Standards. • Observe, assess, and document
children’s development to guide individualized instruction and
classroom planning. • Maintain an organized, safe, and stimulating
classroom environment that reflects children’s interests, supports
all areas of development, and meets Ohio Step Up To Quality
standards. • Ensure compliance with Ohio licensing requirements,
center policies, and classroom procedures. • Prepare and organize
classroom materials, learning centers, and schedules to support
active engagement and learning. • Foster nurturing relationships,
encourage positive behaviors, and model social-emotional skills. •
Communicate effectively with families about children’s progress,
needs, and daily experiences. • Collaborate with team members,
administrators, and community partners to support children’s
learning, developmental transitions, and overall well-being. •
Supervise routines such as meals, snacks, and rest periods,
ensuring health, safety, and program standards are maintained.
Minimum Qualifications: • Must be eighteen (18) years of age and
possess a H.S. diploma or GED equivalent. • Associate degree in
early childhood education or a closely related field, or valid
Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential required. •
Demonstrated experience engaging and caring for young children in
an educational setting. • Must have or obtain the following
trainings within three (3) months of employment: Infant & Child
First Aid & CPR, Common Childhood Communicable Disease, Recognition
and Prevention of Child Abuse. • Shall not have any convictions of
child abuse or crimes involving moral turpitude. • Must have a
fingerprint check by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and
Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI). • Strength in creating
inclusive partnerships with children, families and colleagues. •
Ability to supervise and interact with children outdoors for
extended periods of varied weather conditions. Preferred
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a
closely related field preferred. Conditions of Employment: To
