What You’ll Do: Learn to conduct thorough coating inspections on various construction projects. Complete detailed field inspection reports and document findings accurately. Use specialized field-testing equipment and assist with testing on-site. Work alongside our experienced engineering team, gaining hands-on experience. Ability to work at heights upwards of 150' and in various outdoor environments. A valid driver’s license with a good driving record. Willingness to travel as required for job sites. Some college education or construction-related experience is a plus. Compensation: $22 - $34 hourly Responsibilities: Produce written inspection reports, approve satisfactory plans, issue permits, and issue stop-work orders and violation notices when needed Conduct land surveys to determine leveling, alignment, and elevation of structures on worksites Oversee construction activities and conformance to general public safety standards throughout all phases of construction at building sites Create accurate and detailed daily logs and photos for inspection recordkeeping Analyze blueprints and building plans to be sure they meet contract specifications, local building code ordinances, electrical code safety standards, and zoning regulations Qualifications: Requires a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record Certification as a building inspector through the International Code Council (ICC)or similar association is highly preferred, but not required 2-3 years of construction industry experience is desired working with construction trades as a plumbing inspector, real estate home inspector, or mechanical inspector Understanding of zoning regulations, construction methods, inspection techniques, and state and local safety regulations and ordinances is needed A high school diploma is required - some college or technical education is attractive in the area of building inspection technology, engineering, construction management, or construction technology About Company Dixon Engineering Inc. is a consulting firm that provides engineering and inspection services to the coating industry. https://www.dixonengineering.net
