As part of our mining operations team, the Underground Maintenance
Mechanic will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity and
functionality of our underground mining equipment and machinery.
This position is critical in ensuring operational continuity and
efficiency, contributing directly to our mission of supporting the
world’s agricultural and industrial needs. Perform routine and
emergency maintenance of all underground equipment and machinery,
including conveyors, pumps, and drilling machines. Diagnose
mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking
blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts, using
hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools. Inspect used parts to
determine changes in dimensional requirements, using rules,
calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments. Adjust,
repair, or replace defective parts of machinery and equipment.
Lubricate and clean machine parts and adjust machines for optimal
performance. Keep detailed records of operations, maintenance work,
and repairs. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot
and repair mechanical issues. Proficiency in using tools and
diagnostic equipment necessary for maintenance and repair. Ability
to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
Experience with predictive and preventive maintenance procedures.
Strong safety orientation and familiarity with safety practices
specific to underground environments. Medical Insurance Dental
Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k Certified
Maintenance and Reliability Technician (CMRT) preferred. MSHA
certification is advantageous.
