Location: Toledo, Ohio - United States Description: The Composites Manufacturing Financial Leader (1) provides financial leadership to the regional manufacturing team, (2) owns the reporting and analysis of regional manufacturing results to global and regional leadership and (3) provides functional leadership for the Composites Plant Controllers in region. This position reports directly to the Composites Global Manufacturing Finance Director with strong accountability for driving results to the Regional Operations Director and strong reporting/forecasting/analysis of manufacturing results to the Regional Finance Leader. The Manufacturing Financial Leader is a dynamic position on both the finance and operations teams. It is also an important part of the financial talent pipeline and serves as a feeder for larger corporate roles. Responsibilities: Driving segment and group profitability Leads initiatives in region to achieve targets, mitigate risk and prioritize resource needs Leads TPM in region by: (1) ensuring each facility in region has adopted the tools and techniques of Cost Deployment, (2) promoting a culture of waste elimination along with their operations partners, (3) pro-actively focusing the team to share and adopt best practices from other sites, and (4) ensuring a process to track execution of the zero waste projects within region, recognizing those that excel and highlighting others that need more focus. Leads proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement and corrective actions to ensure facility financial results and shareholder value is optimized Provides insightful and competitive analytics that anticipate change and drive decision making Educates plant personnel on key performance metrics Metrics Key performance indicators Productivity against plan Zero Waste Project tracking and delivery Financial performance against plan Operations planning and forecasting Participates in the development of strategic and operational objectives for the region that are aligned to Corporate and Group strategic objectives Leads financial planning, budgeting and forecasting processes for the regions manufacturing. Challenges the assumptions and targets set by the manufacturing sites and Regional Operations Leadership Team. Responsible for Manufacturing (Gain)/Loss Idle/Downtime forecasts and projections in the region, and the annual creation of standard costs Proactively identifies risk and opportunities within the forecast process. Along with Operations, develops appropriate action plans and leads the tracking of plans with the manufacturing sites. Metrics Operating rhythm and cadence in place and being followed Operations Plans and routine Forecasts executed Process expectations and timing Financial and Operational Controls Ensures that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including; data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations (GAAP, SOX compliance, etc.) Drives a robust representation letter process that provides assurance and visibility to a sound internal control environment. Leads the Continuous Sign-off process to ensure that accountability for internal controls is clear and that processes are documented. Drives best practice and risk mitigation across the network, including the learnings from prior audits and internal controls reviews Metrics Controls performance ratings Audit ratings Number of repeat findings Reporting, analysis and systems Monitors the plants monthly closing process in conjunction with the Accounting team Communicates results effectively to management and non-financial personnel Appropriately elevates issues to business leadership timely to drive resolution Provides in-depth analysis and insight on variances to plan and forecast Provides risk analysis for contingency planning Leverages systems to promote automation, standardization and simplification across the Region Actively supports global system initiatives and leads region in development, implementation and adoption of those system enhancements Metrics Timely and accurate closing process Forecast accuracy and timeliness Balance Sheet Integrity Leading and developing talent Creates an environment where talent is developed through effective performance management, talent evaluation systems and utilization of people. Acts as a resource to the non-financial leaders of the business providing education and training on the key principles of Finance Grows and develops both direct reports and dotted-line talent in their organization. Ensures succession plans are executed for focus roles Metrics Rate of turnover Rate of turnover for poor and marginal performers Number of turnovers of high performance and high growth talent Talent developed and promoted under their leadership Job Requirements MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS : Bachelors degree in finance, accounting or relevant discipline a must. MBA, CMA, CPA preferred. EXPERIENCE: Minimum of ten years proven manufacturing financial experience. Providing leadership to organizations within a manufacturing operation(s)leading operations planning, savings, forecasting and investment analysis Operating in a range of economic conditions, i.e. expansion, contraction, stable economic conditionsforecasting, scenario planning, risk analysis and contingency development. Delivering continuous improvement. Participating in the development of strategic plans. Attracting, developing and retaining outstanding talentgrowing talent and succession planning. Demonstrated high growth in previous experience KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Strong financial acumen with demonstrated analytical ability accompanied by knowledge of corporate finance and manufacturing costing principlesunderstands P&L and balance sheet dynamics Demonstrated ability to teach and communicate in simple, impacting terms Capable to understand Composites manufacturing processes at a level that allows them to be involved in improvements/solutions accelerate best practice sharing. Demonstrated ability to manage and control costseffectively develops business cases and enroll leaders at all levels in taking appropriate action. Demonstrated ability to develop and intimate knowledge of customers, competition, and the market and uses this knowledge to drive customer and product profitability decisions. Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute strategic directions.
