Job Description Job Description Senior Accountant Location: Omaha Employment Type: Full-Time, Long-Term Contract Department: Accounting & Finance Reports To: Accounting Manager / Controller About the Role We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Senior Accountant to join our client's finance team for a long-term contract. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis. Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP. Analyze general ledger accounts and perform ongoing financial reviews to maintain data integrity. Support budgeting and forecasting processes through financial modeling and trend analysis. Manage and reconcile fixed assets, accruals, prepaid accounts, and other key balance sheet areas. Assist with internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor inquiries. Monitor and improve accounting procedures, internal controls, and documentation. Contribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and system enhancements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including AP, AR, FP& A, and operations. Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance as needed. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience. Strong understanding of GAAP , financial reporting, and internal controls. Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics ) and advanced Excel skills. Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Preferred Skills Exposure to multi-entity or multi-currency environments. Knowledge of process automation tools or ERP implementations.
