Executive Director for Equity, Access and Opportunity POSITION: -- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- - Executive Director for Equity, Access and Opportunity SUPERVISOR:-- - -- --- --- --- --- - Vice President for Human Resources and the Center for InterculTUral Excellence DEPARTMENT: -- --- --- - Center for InterculTUral Excellence-- - Reporting to the University Vice President for Human Resources and the Center for InterculTUral Excellence, the Executive Director for Equity, Access and Opportunity provides vision, leadership, and guidance for campus-wide initiatives that support Tiffin University's mission and strategic plan. The Executive Director works to cultivate and advance an inclusive campus culture and working environment by creating infrastructure that intentionally supports populations to address specific and unique needs for success.-- - The Executive Director will help foster an academic and work environment of equal opportunity and equity for students, faculty, and staff in all aspects of educational programming and employment and is responsible for University-wide programs, policies, and procedures designed to ensure individuals are free from protected-class discrimination, harassment, and sexual violence. The Executive Director for Equity, Access and Opportunity will oversee the University's compliance with federal and state discrimination and harassment laws; design and deliver instructive compliance materials and training programs; develop and monitor appropriate policies; and ensure the prompt investigation and resolution of complaints. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -- - MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The overall management of the Title IX certification process and renewals for all Title IX coordinators and investigators. Manage the budgeting dollars required to ensure all participants in the process are properly trained and trainings are updated;
  • Strong understanding of state and federal laws and regulations around protected class discrimination or harassment, including Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, ADA/504, Cleary and VAWA;
  • Oversee prompt, effective, and equitable intake of reports; investigations; issuing of findings of fact; and timely resolution of all instances of discrimination, harassment and retaliation made known to responsible employees and/or reported or filed by students, faculty, staff, third parties, or by members of the broader community;
  • Intentional Student Programs to Support Diverse Student Success
  • Oversee the investigation process, in coordination with the Deputy Title IX Coordinator. Train and supervise panel investigators, conduct and coordinate investigations, provide initial remedial actions or informal resolutions when possible, ensure adherence to timelines, provide appropriate interim actions and remedies;
  • Organize and maintain files, disposition reports, and other records regarding compliance in Maxient Conduct Manager. Review reports for the development of patterns and oversee appropriate educational methods to address;
  • Oversee all campus annual Title IX reporting as required by state and federal law, such as aggregate data reporting to NCAA and Clery crime reporting;
  • Conduct the Title IX campus climate assessment;
  • Serve as principal contact for government inquiries pursuant to Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, VAWA, ADA, ADAAA and other federal and state anti-discrimination laws, regulations and requirements;
  • A demonstrated commitment to and sophisticated understanding of the national conversation around diversity, equity, and inclusion in higher education and a keen sense of best practices and emerging issues;
  • Experience in collaboratively developing and implementing a shared strategic vision across a complex institution specifically focusing on DEI;
  • A track record of creativity, emotional intelligence and innovation in approaching complex and/or difficult conversations;
  • Demonstrated knowledge, and/or experience with the process of the recruitment and retention of historically underrepresented students;
  • Provide and oversee ongoing campus-wide training on Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, VAWA, ADA, ADAAA and other federal and state anti-discrimination laws, regulations and requirements for all students and employees, with specialized training content for hearing officers/boards, investigators, campus safety, and appeals officers;
    • Meet with complainants and respondents in cases of sexual violence and sex/gender discrimination including referral to support resources, providing policy information, and assisting with reporting options;
    • Oversee and implement campus efforts aimed at the prevention of sexual violence and other forms of sex and/or gender-based discrimination;
    • Develops quarterly diversity newsletter;
    • Engages with external organizations, groups, and support entities that advance the diversity and inclusion mission of the University;
    • Ensures that the University culture, environment and approach in every area are inclusive, respectful and inviting to all;
    • Implements formal programs, processes and metrics and is instrumental in diversity and inclusion messaging for women, racial and ethnic minorities, members of the LGBTQ+ community and those with disabilities;
    • Co-advise underrepresented student organizations as needed;
    • Work directly with student organizations to ensure planning of events that aligns with the Center--------s mission and goals;
